BOQUIO -
It seems most likely that Boquio comes from bos kyogh, or bos kiogh, which is Cornish for snipe's dwelling, or dwelling of snipe.
Either there were once a lot of snipe there, or else Kyogh was a personal name, which would make it the dwelling of a person called Snipe.
The idea that it might mean 'dwelling in a hollow' must in theory come from the Cornish bos kew, but it seems most unlikely that this would have developed the extra vowel sound.
It might come from bos keow, dwelling of hedges.
The name is usually pronounced bo-KEE-o with the emphasis on the middle syllable.
