Nic Harrison

Nic moved to Cornwall in 1975 with his wife Jackie, a weaver.

Having completed a ceramics course at Cornwall College, he went on to train at The Leach Pottery, in St Ives.

In 1981, he established Trelowarren Pottery on the Trelowarren Estate near Helston. Here his workshop was open to the public.

Selection of Porcelain Gunomi

Nic's workshop is now at Penhale Jakes in Ashton, near Helston, where he continues to make an extensive range of useful oven to table, kitchenware and is producing new collections of work for Exhibition, using both Porcelain and Stoneware clays.

Stoneware Teapots

His work is firmly rooted in 'The Leach Tradition'. The hand thrown forms show Japanese influences and have integrity and honesty. The use of iron, copper and cobalt oxides produce surface colour inspired by the rugged coastline seen from his workshop. His 27 cubic foot kiln is reduction fired with propane gas to 1300°C.
